Instructors

Tiffany DuPuy (Owner, Competition Team Coach, Acro)
Tiffany grew up dancing from the time she turned two.  With the occasional deviation to go to gymnastics or soccer, she has been on the dance floor her whole life.  Growing up in The Woodlands, Texas where dance team or “drill team” is the popular thing to do, Tiffany was a dancer and student instructor at Dancin’ Bluebonnets from 1992-1995. There she took pom, lyrical, jazz, and kick classes.  She also danced on her Jr. High dance team called the Gingham Girls during the later part of those years.  Once a freshman in high school she made and danced for The Woodlands High School Highsteppers from 1995-1999.  There she trained in mostly lyrical, precision jazz, and kick styles of dance.  (research them on youtube…you won’t be disappointed)  During the years of 2000-2002, Tiffany coached her first dance team of 50 7th-8th grade girls.  It was the same team she was on when she was in Jr. High.  While at college at Sam Houston State University she minored in dance.  There she took ballet, modern, and hip hop while studying Laban technique.  Shortly after moving to Greenville, Tiffany got a job teaching dyslexic students at Camperdown Academy where she taught Drama, Social Studies, and Literature.  Also during this time she taught at Carolina Cheer and Training Center working with Eastside, Greenville, and Wren high school teams.  She also assisted some with the All-Star program there.  In 2007, however, she took over the Eastside Dance Team exclusively.  The team still comes to her for training to this day in the areas of Pom, Jazz, and Hip Hop.  In 2011, Tiffany bought Palmer School of Dance, a studio that has been around since 1936, and gave it a new style with a new name.  This year (fall 2015) starts Tiffany’s 5th year in business.   She is lead coach for PAS/MAS Pom, PAS/MAS Lyrical, and Advanced Prop Competition Teams.

Stephanie Cureton (Ballet, Technique, and Competition Team Instructor)

Stephanie’s love for dance also started at a young age.  But by the time she was in high school she had enough experience to make an audition for The Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities.  After graduating from there, she followed her passion to Agnes Scott College where she solidified her love for modern.  Later, she graduated with a degree in Psychology and Dance.  Her passion and love for dance and the dancers, shows in every class she teaches!  This year, she is the lead coach for Advanced Contemporary and Junior Elite Competition Team.

Sarah Blake (Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop Instructor)

Before attending Furman University, Sarah danced for 15 years at her studio back home in Kentucky.  She trained in ballet, tap, modern, contemporary, and hip hop.  She has taken classes and helped instruct classes at The Governor’s School.  While at Furman, she focused on choreographing more lyrical style dances which were always showcased at Furman’s Dance Spectacular.  Currently, Sarah teaches Spanish at JL Mann High School in Greenville and continues to choreograph pieces for Furman’s Masters in Dance Program.

Shannon Harrison (pre-dance)

This instructor proves it is never too late to pursue your passion!  Starting dance in adulthood, Shannon has taken dance at several studios in the upstate and learned from some top-notch instructors.  Taking Ballet and Tap classes for over fifteen years, she finds that the “little ones” are her heart.  This is why you will find her teaching the 2-4 year olds at DanceUnited.

Shannon Penton (Aerial, Praise and Worship, S.T.L.)

Currently a Spanish Major at North Greenville University, Shannon has taken dance for over 10 years back in her home town of Westminster, SC.  She briefly studied dance at the University of Georgia, where she also found a love for aerial dancing, among other styles like contemporary and lyrical.  Shannon is a young lady who loves the Lord and it shows in the way she dances and how she treats those around her.

Brittany Peisel (Competition Team Assistant Coach)

Brittany graduated from the University of Georgia, only to turn around and coach the dance team from Georgia State University. She works with an entertainment company, helping Division 1A school sports programs maintain their license for stellar sports programs.  A recent move to Greenville, allowed her to continue her love for coaching dance.  This season, she is the lead coach for Prep Jazz and Prep and Advanced Pom Competition Teams.

Lexy Foertch (7-11 Jazz/Tap)

After 15 years in our studio, Lexy has become an instructor!  She is a loving, kind young lady whose passion for young dancers is contagious!

Drake Malpass (All Boys Hip Hop)

Drake is a student at Greenville Tech and a street performer in downtown Greenville.  His pop and lock, B-boy style of hip hop will be sure to get the body moving!
